Position: INTERNAL AUDITOR
Reports to: The Chief Internal Auditor
Duty station: COE Mulago Hospital
Purpose of the job: To review, monitor and Implement the Independent ap¬praisal of the effectiveness of financial, physical and information resources control policies, procedures and standards in accordance with the established audit guidelines and International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
Key Result Areas:
1. Review and analyze the monthly financial reports and register variances to establish risks in accordance with established audit guidelines
2. Carry out compliance testing of financial systems and control procedures in accordance with established auditing standards
3. Develop internal audit plans and programmes in accordance with estab¬lished planning guidelines
4. Inspect stocks and check stock records for accuracy, and record any dis¬crepancy in accordance with established procedures
5. Guide and coordinate external audits and make follow-up of the various recommendations in the external audit reports in line with International' Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
6. Provide information to Managers and Staff to enable them comply with fi¬nancial requirements in accordance with the department's guidelines
7. Draft audit reports with highlights of audit findings and recommendations in accordance with established audit report writing guidelines
Qualifications and job specifications
The successful candidate will have;
1. A bachelor's degree (honours) in Finance or Accounting from a reputable university.
2. Membership of ACCA or CPA or CIA.
3. Membership to Institute of Internal Auditors of Uganda.
4. Computer proficiency coupled with a strong understanding of Audit soft¬ware and knowledge of Navision.
5. Team work, communication and presentation skills
6. Investigative and analytical skills and knowledge of audit procedures, in¬cluding planning techniques, test and sampling methods involved in con¬ducting audits, new auditing techniques and practices.
7. The candidate must have at least three (3) years working experience,
8. The candidate must be 27-40 years of age.
9. The candidate must be willing to travel up country occasionally.
