Job Title: Deputy Director (Technical) -Nuydc

Reports To: Director- Northern Uganda Youth Development Centre


Minimum Qualification & Working Experience:

● A Bachelors of Science Degree in any Engineering Field, Business Administration Or Management from a recognized institution.

● A Master’s Degree in any Engineering Field, Business Administration Or Management or a related fi eld from a recognized institution.

● A Certifi cate or Diploma in Technical Teacher Education (CTTE/DTTE) or certifi cate in Vocational Training Instruction (CVTI)

● A minimum of 5 years teaching experience 3 of which should be at the principal Lecture Level.

● Technical qualifi cation/training of trainers or training of instructors for Business, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (BTVET) are an added advantage

● Experience with output oriented/employment and enterprise orientation is an advantage.

● Knowledge and practice of modularised training based on standards and a qualifi cation framework for assessment.

● Private and public sector experience in skills development

● Experience in managing teams in a cross-cultural setting

● Knowledge of any of the methods of creating an employment/ output oriented curriculum, such as DACUM or any other is an added advantage.

● Experience with relevant research in skills development such as conducting tracer studies and labour market scans is an advantage

● Understanding Financial management of institutions and Government of Uganda accountability and procurement procedures

● Experience with planning and monitoring of strategic and operational plans

● A high level of integrity and Honesty

Duties and responsibilities:

● Deputise the Director

● Ensure effi cient implementation of all academic programmes for the institution.

● Assist in the coordination and preparation of departmental

schemes of work and lesson plans

● Ensure the integrity of internal and external examinations, their administration and supervision.

● Establish the required materials and ensure their rational distribution and utilization

● Ensure on time and in time reporting

● Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the relevant authority.
