Job Title: Medical director-Masaka Clinics

Reports to: National Medical Director

Job Summary: Directly oversees all clinical and non-clinical services and departments, ensuring delivery of high quality standard of care for all patients. Collaborates with AHF Uganda Cares partners and other HIV/AIDS and health sector players. Provides clinical care to both pediatric and adult clients,

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

• Is the senior manager of the center, AHF's advocate and oversees the day to day operations of the center

• Provides leadership in analysis of reports, tests, examination and facilitation of referrals.

• Attends or delegates staff to partnership meetings

• Chairs the general dink, quality assurance , quality improvement and clinical team meetings

initiative and on-going socio-economic

• Ensures adherence to AHF financial guidelines

• Provides direct supervision to clinical team


Clinical:

• Maintains provider productivity to standards ser by AHF management.

• Promotes the implementation of standard operating procedures

• Ensures optimal operations of the laboratory service and quality control

Ensures timely submission of routine reports


Job requirement

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience

• Must be a medical doctor from a recognized institu­tion with postgraduate training in Health systems management or public health. Current registration with the medical and dental practitioners council.

• 5 years medical/ health service experience preferred with a sound knowledge of basic medical disciplines.

• 3 years or more of recent experience with HIV/AIDS treatment; 2years minimum of administration /program management.

• Experience in planning, budgeting, interpersonal and written communication skills, with sensitivity to issues surrounding HIV/AIDS is required.
