Job Title: Nurse In-Charge-Masaka Clinic
Reports To: Program Nurse Manager
Job Summary; Oversees the nursing component of the health care center and directs relevant team members to ensure sin even workflow, quality nursing care and participates in employee evaluations. He/she also functions as a Health Center Nurse, providing comprehensive nursing services to individuals and families. Provides quality care to patients in an out-patient care setting
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administrative responsibilities:
• Planning for nurses, counselors, HIV Medics, ART Aides and support staff
• Supervising and providing mentorship to staff
• Ensures that all supervised staff adhere co professional code of conduct and ethics
• Intercedes with difficult clients, resolves staff or client disputes, and assists with operational or procedural inquiries.
• Ensures that all equipment at the center is secure, functional and well maintained
• To ensures timely requisitioning for drugs, equipment, sundries and other supplies
• Manage proper inventory and stock management for all drugs and supplies at the center
• Coordinates case management and operational review meetings.
Clinical Responsibilities
• Provides skilled nursing care to clients on an out patients basis
• Administers medication as ordered within the scope of practice of the licensee
• Performs phlebotomy and /or initiates intravenous infusions as ordered.
• Assists medical staff with examinations and procedures.
Job requirement
Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:
• Must be double drained at registered level or its equivalent from an accredited nursing training institution; with Diploma in nursing administration
• Must be registered with the Nurses and Midwives council
• Must have served for at least six years as a health worker, three of which at Senior Nursing Officer level
LICENSE:
Must possess a valid practicing license and be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council.
