Job Title: ASSISTANT BURSAR - (UICT Scale 5)

Reporting to: Bursar
Main purpose of the job Provide management and administrative support to the Bursar Main Duties and Responsibilities

Overseeing of cashing and banking operations

Overseeing student account charges and payments Raising of invoices and related documentation

Processing of payment vouchers Assisting in the supervision, selection, training and evaluation of staff

In consultation with the Bursar, analyzes business processes, identifying and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness Participating in department budget preparation Producing monthly reports Ensuring compliance with statutory and Institute regulations and policies.

Assist the Bursar with preparation of financial reports.

Assist Bursar with timely annual Audit preparation Perform the duties of the Bursar in the Bursar’s absence

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS A Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree (Accounting Option), Business Administration (Accounting Option) or related field. Or equivalent professional accounting qualification. Partial professional qualification will be an added advantage. Two years experience in a similar position in a recognized institution. The Assistant Bursar must have a sound knowledge of fiscal statutory regulations. Must be computer literate. Knowledge of accounting computer software and of new technology and banking/commerce methods will be of added advantage.
