Main purpose of the post:
The Estates Officer Coordinates and oversees the maintenance of the Institute estate facilities, services and utilities to effectively service the core business. Main Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall day to day maintenance of all Institute buildings, plant and services.
In charge of all plant electrical and electronic maintenance works Supervise maintenance of grounds to ensure tidiness Prepares regular reports on estates facilities Ensure that the planned maintenance programmes are followed and that materials and necessary resources are ordered and available as required
Monitor and carry out quality control of works carried out. Verify and certify contractors’ jobs on completion of satisfactory work.
Ensure that the security service provider is vigilant and takes all reasonable precautions to secure the Institute.
Supervises assigned staff In-charge of estates water and sewerage system and electrical installations including the standby generator
Ensure that Institute vehicles, motor cycles, bicycles etc are used appropriately and properly maintained.
Make estimates for maintenance works Supervises hired-out facilities for functions/ceremonies Ensures general cleanliness of all estates buildings
Participate in the development of infrastructural strategic and operational plans for the Institute
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
An honours degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture or Construction Management. Three years experience in similar position. Must have a driving license. Must be computer literate. Knowledge of architectural software and experience in …………will be of added advantage.
