Job Title: Aquaculture systems designer/ engineer
Reporting to Director/Head aquaculture
Age limit 30-50 years
Location: Kajjansi
Salary scale: UR4
Core Duties:
a) Design culture systems of inland fish farms and water distribution canals,
b) Provide technical guidance on site suitability for aquaculture production systems (cage, tanks, pens, raceways, ponds).
c) Provide hydrological information in the design and operation of aquaculture systems.
d) Guide on the hydraulic aspects in designing aquaculture systems.
e) Guide in input load determination and ecosystem modeling in aquaculture,
f) Provide engineering guidance on construction of aquaculture production systems.
g) Plan and design fish hatcheries.
h) Provide guidance in designs and construction of Re-circulating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) and re-use of water in aquaculture.
Qualifications:
An honors degree in civil, sanitary, agricultural engineering, hydrology,environmental engineering/technology or equivalent with relevant post graduate training for example in environmental modeling; hydrological modeling, reservoir engineering, aquaculture engineering, at least four years' experiencing in similar or related fields of system design, operations and e.g. dam/reservoir construction, water and waste water treatment designs for diverse landscapes (land, water, swamp, wetland).
