Job Title: Program Officer
Reports to Regional Representative
Location: Kampala,Uganda

The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, Center for
Communication Programs (CCP) manages strategic health communication projects in Uganda, in dose collaboration with the government of Uganda and civil society organizations. CCP is looking to hire a qualified program officer II based in Kampala, to provide technical advice in behavior and social change communication (BSCC) to its projects in Uganda. Specifically; he/she will;
• Support one or more field programs with technical and programmatic assistance.
• Provide Uganda programs with assistance in the design, development, and evaluation of BSCC programs, materials and activities.
• Provide day-to-day problem solving, technical input, writing and editing, and procurement processing for Uganda projects.
• Network with development partners and implementing partners and seek new opportunities for CCP in Uganda and elsewhere
• Mentor and strengthen the communication capacity of CCP communication professionals based in Uganda.
• Document the processes and evaluation results of CCP projects in Uganda
• Represent CCP at meetings, conferences, and workshops
• Design and conduct short training sessions on specific strategic health communication skills
• Keep abreast of developments in the health communication field and share these learnings with colleagues in Uganda
• Prepare work plans, quarterly and annual reports, and budgets.

Education and/or Experience:
Masters degree (M.A., MHS, and MPH) or equivalent, and/or 4 or more years of relevant experience.
Experience working internationally is an advantage.
Should have basic computer skills, including familiarity with Spreadsheets, Powerpoint, and Word Processing.
Able to live in Uganda and travel internationally as needed.
