Position Title: Communications Officer
Duty Station: Kampala
Job Summary: - Develop and implement a communication strategy for the project; Streamline the project's Communication agenda; both internal and external; Ensure that EADD becomes a brand among dairy smallholder farmers in the project area; Support mobilization of farmers into Dairy Farmer Business Associations (DFBAs) branding of DFBAs businesses; Partner with program officers to develop, implement media plans, messages and materials that clarify for key audiences the !program goals and priorities; co-ordinate the production of internal and external project communications, publications and materials, in consultation with other staff; Support formation and participation of radio listening clubs in the project area; Coordinate community dialogue sessions aimed at increasing female and youth involvement in the project activities and coordinate video documentary development for the project.
Minimum Professional Qualifications and Experience:
Must have a degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, and Marketing, Social Sciences or relevant degree, Must have strong writing and editing skills; Must be computer proficient; Must have the ability to multi-task and demonstrate strong teamwork skills. Experience of not less than 3 years working in: an international organization.
Essential Skills Desired; Practical knowledge of desktop publishing, video production using current soft ware computer programs is an added advantage and encourage livestock farmers to protect the environment by promoting environmentally friendly methodologies.
