Job Title: Director, Finance and Accounts.
Reports to: The Secretary General
Duty station: Kampala, Uganda
Grade: UR 2-1
Contracts duration: 4 years.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the implementation of financial management policies for the society.
- Take change of the Society’s Accounts Regulatory roles, and ensure operators comply with National Society’s Accounting Requirements.
- Ensure all financial reporting obligations to URCS Partners are met in accordance with the MOUs.
- Control income and expenditure and general financial management of the society.
- Ensure comprehensive and constructive staff performance reviews for staff supervised.
- Oversee management of the negotiations, funding and rescheduling of payments.
Minimum qualifications and working experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or its equivalent,
- Professional qualification in ACCA, CPA or its equivalent.
- Masters in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration of its equivalent desirable
- Substantial skills in computer applications (Spreadsheets and NAVISION)
- Experience in a reputable organization at senior management level for at least 5 years
- Competencies in strategic management, leadership, mentorship and problem solving.
- A team player with excellent communication.
- Negotiation and interpersonal skills a plus.
