Job Title: Health Advisor
The Health Advisor will be part of the DFID Uganda multi-disciplinary programme team responsible for accelerating Uganda’s progress towards health MDGs.
Main Tasks
• Lead on the technical and clinical aspects of the DFID’s family planning, reproductive and child health and malaria programmes
• Represent DFID Uganda in the GoU’s technical working groups and other policy influencing forums
• Undertake high quality analysis and identify ways to improve quality of health services/ quality of care provided in DFID supported health programmes
• Work closely with the current DFID supported health programmes
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Masters Degree in Public Health or a Bachelor of Medicine or equivalent in the following disciplines epidemiology; health planning and finance; health economics
• Knowledge and application of epidemiology and public health
• Knowledge and experience of health service delivery in a developing country context
• Knowledge and application of evidence, innovation and evaluation
