Our Client Sanlam is an Insurance company that is seeking to recruit suitably qualified candidates for the above vacancy;

Job Purpose:

Managing a team of sales agents and interns according to agreed upon standards in order to reach set sales targets for individual life business in Sanlam Life Insurance Uganda.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* To identify and take advantage of market opportunities;
* To recruit and train sales people on an ongoing basis in order to retain the group size at an agreed upon level;
* To ensure that sales staff have the required level of product knowledge;
* To motivate and encourage team members to produce optimally;
* To coordinate and disseminate information between the sales team and management;
* To reach or exceed the sales target agreed upon;
* To set targets for the team members, evaluate performance & take remedial action where necessary;
* To supervise the sales team in the field and ensure that they meet the Sanlam standards;
* Ensure that any facilitation paid to sales interns is monitored and in line with the processes in place;
* To communicate the annual business plan and strategy to the sales team and identify means by which to achieve it;
* To identify training needs for the sales staff and to arrange for training on an ongoing basis where necessary; including skills development.
* Regularly reporting to management on progress made towards meeting sales targets;
* To ensure all sales staff conform to the rules, regulations and values set out by Sanlam and that any transgression is dealt with immediately and appropriately;
* To ensure efficient and cost effective distribution of policies;
* To ensure proper utilization of resources by the sales staff;
* To manage the risks associated with sales and sales staff ;
* To mentor and develop potential sales staff for possible advancement in the company;
* To motivate and retain sales staff;
* Ensure premiums are collected and after sales service is done;
* To ensure business retention and persistence at agreed levels.
* Identification and execution of worksite strategies and stop-order implementation.
* Any other duties assigned by management.


KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
1. Management

* Recruitment & training of sales interns/agents (product knowledge)
* Retention of the sales team at the required minimum.
* Performance evaluation & motivation of the sales team & taking remedial action where necessary.
* Risk management on team resources & compliance with procedure.
* Development of sales interns to agents and COP compliance.
* Preparation for production meetings and feedback to management

2. Production

* Setting targets for the team.
* Setting strategies to achieve set targets.
* Achieving sales targets.
* Persistence of business brought in at agreed levels.

3. Activity management

* Field supervision of the sales team & utilization of the information collected.
* Supervision and management of field staff activities.
* Quality of the activity reports & use of the information in the reports.
* Timely submission of activity reports as per agreed standards
* Timely requisition of facilitation funds in line with procedure
* Premium collection when required
* Time management, including reporting time, meetings, submission of reports etc.
* Scheduling of worksite events and their execution.
* Schedule of Client contact activities and after sales car.

Qualifications:

* Tertiary or post secondary qualification in a business related field.
* Previous experience in sales and insurance is essential.
