Post: Quality Improvement Advisor

The main objective is to identify the most cost effective training model. The eligible officers, who will be members of the mobile team, will support Quality Improvement activities at the facility level.


Key Responsibilities;
• Be charged with the roles and responsibilities of meeting the IDCAP goals.
• Demonstrate team player skills
• Organize and conduct Quality Improvement (QI) trainings to mid-level practitioners both in class-room and at their respective facilities.
• Organize and carry out coaching visits with facility teams.
• Facilitate health unit teams in establishing baselines for selected indicators.
• Assist health unit teams with monthly data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Facilitate documentation of quality improvement changes.
• Effect the synthesis of site team QI efforts and document best practices.
• Develop training materials with the consultation of the Program manager and Chief of Party. • Take the lead in study- related QI field activities to ensure that they are implemented according to the study design.
• Make monthly field reports and submit to the immediate supervisor (the Program Manager).
• Be able to fulfill any other assignment.
• Update the technical team on the progress of the program.
• Any other responsibilities as required.


Desired Qualifications:
• Degree in Medicine and registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council.
• At least three years of experience in providing care and treatment at the District level in Uganda.
• Should be willing to travel to the field for up to 65% of his/her time.
• Experience in Quality Improvement approaches. Prior experience in the use of Collaborative approaches in QI would be an advantage.
• Experience in training clinical service providers.
• Background in conducting research would be an advantage.
