Sub County NAADS Coordinator - New Job Vacancies in Uganda

Job Title: Sub County NAADS Coordinator.
Remuneration: Attractive and Competitive.
Terms of employment: Three-year contract, renewable.

Duties and responsibilities of Sub County NAADS (SNC) Coordinator.
In carrying out his/her duties SNC will be responsible for:
• Coordination of overall implementation of NAADS activities at Sub County level;
• Ensuring development of sub-county work plans and budgets for provision of agricultural advisory services to farmers.
• Consolidation of sub-county work plans and budgets into the Sub county advisory services work plan and budget, including quantitative and qualitative indicators for monitoring and evaluation.
• Ensuring incorporation of the annual advisory services work plan and budget estimate into the overall Sub county annual work plan;
• Coordination and ensuring application of standards in provision of advisory services and procurement of goods.
• Ensuring that identifi ed farmers advisory services and technology needs are met;
• Coordinating Sub county Farmers Forum meetings and act as Secretary to the Sub county Farmer Forum;
• As the vote holder for provision of agricultural advisory services, supervising NAADS expenditures and ensure accountability and value for money;
• Collaboration with all relevant Sub county units
(Finance, Audit, Planning, Environment) for the effectiveimplementation of the NAADS;
• Collaboration with the Sub county Farmers Forum executive, providing technical and administrative support to Farmer Fora and the Sub County Procurement and Parish Community Procurement Committees for the procurement of goods and services;
• Coordinating identifi cation of capacity development needs of service providers (SPs) and ensuring that these are met;
• Undertaking internal supervision and ensuring the monitoring of NAADS implementation at the Sub County.
• Coordination of sub-county reviews and participating in Sub county planning and review meetings;
• Preparation and production of progress reports (fi nancial and physical) at the Sub county level on NAADS implementation
• Undertaking any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the District NAADS Coordinator and/ or Sub County Chief.
• Undertakes any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:
The Sub County NAADS Coordinator must have a minimum of diploma or any other qualifi cation from an institution recognized in any of the following fields;
• Agriculture
• Veterinary Medicine
• Forestry
• Fisheries or
• Entomology

A degree in any of the above will be a added advantage.Working Experience:
1. At least Two (2) years experience in Rural Development or related fi eld, and working with farmers.
2. Experience in administrative and management experience in a local government setting and or rural development organisation will be an added advantage;
3. Computer literacy in standard Computer Packages (Word processing and Spread Sheet Packages) will be an added advantage
4. A person of integrity, team player, good communicator (spoken & written) and demonstrable excellent interpersonal relationship skills.

Reporting:
The Sub county NAADS Coordinator (SNC) shall work under the direct supervision of the Sub county Chief (SCC) and reports to the Sub County Farmer Fora (SCFF) through its Executive.

Contract Arrangements:
Performance based contract of three (3) years with a six-month probation period. The contract is renewable on satisfactory performance. Each contracted Offi cer will be offered a competitive consolidated salary and fully facilitated to carry out his/her duties.
