Qualifications: MB.Ch.B degree or its equivalent from a recognized University/Institution.
Qualification in Oncology and relevant working experience in Oncology management will also be considered.

Experience: Applicants should have and working experience of 9 years as a Specialist three (3) of which should be at Consultant level in Oncology.

Other requirements:
• Should have demonstrated qualities of leadership and integrity.
• Proven record of research and publications will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for ensuring efficient management of quality services in his/her area of specialty in the National Referral Hospital with special focus to the Uganda Cancer Institute.
• Supervises and train Consultants, Medical Officers Special Grade, Medical Officers, and other Health Professionals under him/her especially in relation to Oncology Medicine.
• Plans and coordinate training programmes of all health professionals under him/her.
• Trains and supervise Intern Doctors.
• Plans and coordinates Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in his/her area of specialty for Health professionals at the Regional Referral Hospitals and the catchment area of the Hospital.
• Ensures that the Code of Conduct and Ethics is observed by Staff under him/her.
• Provides technical and professional advice in his/her area of specialty to Government and the National Hospital.
• Carries out Research in his/her area of specialization.
• Carries out any other duties as may be assigned from time to lime.

Applicant may apply for a maximum of two (2) relevant posts which must be filled in two separate sets and by labeling the 1st choice as No.1 and the 2nd choice as No. 2.

All applications should bear the title of the post as well as its reference number and the name of the Institution where it is tenable.

Applicants who are Serving Public Officers must route their applications through their Heads of Department, who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delay. Head of Department refers to the Head of the respective Institution of the Applicant. Applications found to be in contravention of this requirement will not be short listed.

Health Workers who are required by law to register with the relevant councils; attach copies of certificates of registration. All candidates who are required by law to possess practicing license should attach copies of valid practicing licenses.
