Reports to; Assistant Director of Research

Qualifications:
• Must have a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Techniques or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
• Must have a Diploma in Health Service Management or its equivalent from a recognized Institution,
• A Bachelors Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or its equivalent from a recognized Institution will be an added advantage.
• A Masters Degree in Biological Sciences or its equivalent from a recognized Institution will also be an added advantage.

Experience: Must have served nine (9) years in laboratory services, three (3) of which should be at the level of Principal Technician.

Other requirements:
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Good interpersonal communication skills,

Duties and responsibilities:
• Participates in and support research activities at the Institute
• Supervises Principal Laboratory Technician.
• Ensures qualify assurance and safety in all Laboratories at UVRI,
• Ensures minimum standards in all laboratories.
• Participates in planning for laboratory expansion programs.
• Coordinates capacity development for technical staff.
• Organizes orientation for the Technical staff.
• Carries out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Applicant may apply for a maximum of two (2) relevant posts which must be filled in two separate sets and by labeling the 1st choice as No.1 and the 2nd choice as No. 2.
