Position: Assistant Project Technical Manager (Quantity Surveyor)

Overall Objective
To assist the Project Technical Manager (PTM) in handling specialist tasks, which among others, include coordination of the civil works, preparing budgets, work plans, procurement requirements, and progress reports.

Qualifications
• University Degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognized University is
•Relevant post graduate qualifications are an added advantage
•Registration with the Quantity Surveyors Professional Body for a minimum of two years.

Experience
• Minimum of 8 years experience, with at least 5 years in similar programmes and positions.
•Exposure to coordination of supplies, equipment and services procurements is highly desirable,
• A working knowledge and familiarity with international funding agency procedures is desirable

Competencies
•Proven track record of professional integrity.
•Strong project planning, management and reporting skills.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and with strong organizational skills. •Ability to work under pressure and obtain results.
• Good interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.


Duties and Responsibilities
•Assisting the PTM in preparing the periodic budgets and work plans for all project activities
•Provide technical guidance in the procurement processes for required building consultancy teams.
•Assist In the verification of all payment certificates for works, services and supplies, including interim and final accounts and recommend to the client for payment.
•Participate in preparation of the guidelines and beneficiary training in operation and maintenance of completed facilities.
•Supporting the PTM in planning and organizing capacity building activities as outlined in the project document
•Supporting the PTM to prepare the terms of reference for the planned studies/ consultancies, procurement of required consultancy services, (short and long term), as well as their implementation
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Project Coordinator.
