Job Title: STERILISATION NURSE

Will be required to oversee the sterilization of instruments used for circumcision surgery and to provide quality nursing care to clients coming for circumcision. He/ she must ensure that there are sterilized surgical kits ready for use daily.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
• Ability to communicate with clients in local language
• Knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDS related issues
• Knowledge of good nursing procedures and practices
• Ability for team work
• Ability to learn very fast,
• Willingness to work extra hours

Responsibilities:
• Oversee the sterilization of all surgical instruments used in circumcisions
• Collect, clean, disinfect, pack and sterilize surgical instruments.
• Ensure that sterilization of surgical Instruments is done in accordance with agreed policies and standard operating procedures.
• Prepares, and issue sterilized surgical packs and other supplies.
•Maintain records according to mandatory legal requirements ensuring that confidentiality is maintained at all times
• Participates as a full member of the IDI-KCC care team by communicating effectively and liaising with other members of the interdisciplinary team

Job requirement

Education Requirements:
• Completion of Nurses Training from a recognized education institution
• Minimum of 3 years work experience In a clinical setting
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in a theatre setting.
• Additional training in Sterilization process is added advantage
