Job Title: Assistant Pharmaceutical Field Coordinators
Management Sciences for Health is currently running a 5 year program whose mandate is to Secure Uganda’s Right to Essential Medicines (SURE). SURE will ensure that the population of Uganda has access to adequate quantities of good quality essential medicines and health supplies (EMHS) by strengthening the national essential medicines and health commodities supply system.
MSH now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions:
Assistant Pharmaceutical Field Coordinators: Location – Lira, Fort-portal, Mbarara, Kampala and Mbale
Overall Responsibilities
• Under SURE, provides support to assigned districts in planning, implementing, and monitoring pharmaceutical management interventions.
• S/he works closely with district health management teams to ensure that all SURE technical assistance, capacity building and pharmaceutical information system activities are adequately implemented and results documented.
• Works closely with the supply chain supervisors of the health sub districts to ensure that all lower level facilities (HC II and HC III) are regularly supervised
• Ensure that performance assessment is done during a supervision visits and facility improvement plans are developed and implemented
• Assist in assessing, analyzing and reporting on the pharmaceutical situation in the districts and health sub district
Requirements
1) Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, or degree in a health area with demonstrated experience in supply chain management 2) Work experience of not less than 3 years in health commodities supply chain. 3) Experience in supervision and performance monitoring of health facilities in health commodities logistics management 4) Long-term working experience in Uganda with knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the Uganda public health system 5) Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other stakeholders in developing creative and strategic solutions to achieve common goals 6) Demonstrated strong organizational, administrative and communications skills. 7) Ability and willingness to travel extensively in the assigned region.
