Applications are invited from suitably qualified University Graduates to fill the following vacant posts currently available in the various Ministries/Departments as specified below. Applications should be submitted in triplicate on Public Service Form No. 3 (2008) to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 7080, Kampala to be received not later than 22nd October 2010.
The application forms are obtainable from the Public Service Commission Office, 2nd Floor, Farmers, House, Parliament Avenue, Kampala, Ministry/Department Headquarters and District Service Commission Offices. Applications should bear the title of the post as well as the Reference Number specified against the vacancy. Applicants should attach three sets of certified photocopies of their academic certificates and transcripts.
Applicants should attach three (3) recent certified passport size photographs and should apply for a maximum of only two (2) posts clearly indicating the first and second choice on the application form.
Officers already appointed in the Public Service shall not be considered.
Applicants who shall not hear from the Public Service Commission, on completion of the selection exercise should consider themselves unsuccessful.
POST: PROCUREMENT OFFICER

AGE: 21 YEARS AND ABOVE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in;
EITHER:
Procurement and Supply Chain/Logistics Management or Purchasing and Supply/Materials Management from a recognized University/Institution
OR
Commerce (Management option with Procurement as a subject) or Business Administration/Studies (Management option with Procurement as a subject) or Sciences or Humanities plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management obtained from a recognized University/Institution
OR
Full professional qualification in Procurement related discipline like Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or International Supplies Management (ISM) from a recognized/accredited Examining Institution.
DUTIES:
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Procurement Officer for performing the following duties:-
· Liaising with end user and preparing draft procurement plan.
· Verifying and organizing documents relating to procurement.
· Verifying procurement and disposal requisitions and organizing related documents.
· Preparing bid documents and maintaining safe custody of procurement and disposal records.
· Participating in evaluation of bid as and when assigned.
· Compiling procurement requirements and documentations on a timely basis.
· Entering authorized transactions on the system for further processing and producing required reports.
· Guiding suppliers on procurement procedures.
· Liaising with accounts team to ensure availability of procurement funds and timely payment.
· Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
