Qualifications:
• Must have Enrolled Midwife Certificate or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
• Must be registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council.

Duties
• Receiving patients, registering admissions, discharges and deaths.
• Carrying out antenatal care with emphasis on identifying high risk cases and refers them to hospital.
• Providing care during labour with emphasis on keeping proper records, use of drugs and prevention of complications to mother and baby.
• Providing care during puerperium with emphasis on prevention of infection and ensure successful breast feeding.
• Participating in bedside nursing procedures as a member of the caring team.
• Participating in Doctors/Clinical officers ward rounds.
• Carrying out observations, keep records and ensure their safe custody.
