ain purpose of the job: The HR Coordinator translates WCH HR Policy into practice for the line functions and processes. The HR Coordinator follows guidelines, manuals and instructions of the Operation Departments at Head Quarters and from the WCH Uganda Management. The HRCo is located at the WCH Country Office with regular travel to the different field locations. In the future the HR Coordinator could perform advisory tasks towards WCH sister organisations (WC Canada & WC UK). The HR Coordinator reports to the WCH Country Director. Key Result Areas 1. In Charge of day to day HR administration and Planning. • S/he follows – up the data related to all staff (access to position of responsibility, seniority, access to training, etc) and is responsible for maintaining KPI’s regarding staff. • S/he supervises the movement of international staff, the Visa management and make sure that HQ is informed about international staff contracts. • S/he makes sure that the administrative files are kept up to date for all staff’s contractual issues. • In Collaboration with the technical referents in the management team, s/he makes sure that there is a proper job description for all the positions (international and national), and ensure that the Job Profiles are properly done and prepared on time. 2. Implementation of HR policies and HR management guidelines • S/he ensures the implementation, grants coherence and continuity, and participates in the definitions / revision, together with the Country Director/Management Team of: - (1) Staff training & development policy, (2), Evaluation Policy & process, (3) Internal Regulations, (4) Salary grids and scaling, (5) Health Policy and other Policies that might need re- defining / reviewing in future; • S/he Keeps updated on the available training, both national and international , and proactively identifies, together with the Management Team, possible candidates among the staff; • S/he knows the labour legislation in force in Uganda and makes sure WCH/WCC/WCUK respects it and abides by it. 3 Reference person for human resources management for all staff in Uganda. • S/he is the technical person to whom all administrative staff in field locations ( Project Administrators, Accounts Assistants, etc) will refer to, ensuring their briefing, support and follow up with regards to the HR aspects of their work; • Under the supervision of the Country Director, S/he prepares the Annual Planning and Develops/Updates the various HR Policies. 4 Capacity building staff and local partner. • Build capacity of the support staff in the various offices on HR topics through on –the- Job training as well as trainings and workshops; • Build capacity of local partners in HR management and HR administration processes;

Skill Set : Knowledge and Experience • A higher vocational education in HRM, or higher vocational education in general, supplemented with courses in HRM. • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in advising and supporting management on HR subjects, and preferably experience in development of HRM instruments in development Countries and (post) conflict areas with in an (I)NGO; Skills and Attitude • Social and Communicative skills for coaching and leadership using English language, with capabilities to understand and incorporate the organizational structure and culture of WCH and HR Policies. Should be result oriented, team player and cost conscious to reach financial targets and guard budgets. Remuneration: Attractive package based on qualifications and experience.
