Job Title: Communication and Knowledge Management Officer(1 Position)
Reporting to: Project Manager
Role: Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the communication and knowledge management initiatives of the Project in line with MAAIF’s communication and knowledge management policy.
Key Results Area:
Develop, review and implement the Project’s communication strategy in line with the project guidelines.
Develop, review and disseminate information and communication materials to project stakeholders in line with the project’s communication strategy.
Plan, coordinate and organize special Project and media events in line with the Project’s communication strategy.
Document and disseminate Project success stories and best practices to relevant stakeholders in line with the project guidelines.
Develop and coordinate strategic partnerships and learning alliances with different agricultural oil seed subsectors in line with the project guidelines.
Develop a framework for supporting stakeholders in accessing market information in line with the project market information guidelines.
Develop and implement learning and knowledge sharing programmes to support current and future project performance in line with the project knowledge management guidelines.
Job specification:
A Masters’ Degree in Communication, Journalism or a related field.
Proven experience of at least five years in designing and implementing communication strategies for sustainable development reflecting gender mainstreaming, poverty eradication and rural development.
Experience and knowledge in the use of modern Information and Communication Technology, and research methods.
Ability to build strategic communication relationships.
A professional of high standing with strong leadership and team building skills.
Have general knowledge of project and business management with emphasis on work planning, budgeting and reporting;
Be computer literate and well versed in the use of Word, Excel and internet;
Fluent English - written and oral and demonstrate excellent report writing skills;
Advanced advocacy, communication and negotiation skills and ability to work as a team member;
Be conversant with rural poverty reduction strategies and gender equity;
A working knowledge of GOU policies, operations and reforms;
Knowledge and experience working with the private sector;
Excellent skills in working with groups to build consensus and resolving conflict.
Excellent organization skills with the ability for multi- tasking;
Excellent presentation skills; oral and written with attention to detail
