HUB Coordinators Job Vacancy in Uganda at Ministry of Agriculture

Job Title: HUB Coordinators (4 positions in Lira, Mbale, Gulu and Arua)

Report to: Oil Seed Coordinator
Role definition: Develop, monitor and evaluate strategies for planning and implementation of the Oil Seed Development component in their respective hub in line with the project guidelines.

Key result areas

Develop and review a framework for procurement of oil seeds extension services in with project procurement standards and guidelines
Develop and review strategies for implementing and monitoring the project in line with the project strategy.
Develop, review and implement strategies for selecting and monitoring the project implementing partners in their respective Hubs in line with the project strategy
Develop and implement regional networking framework to coordinate the oil seed sub sector in line with the project guide lines
Carry out a training needs assessment and develop training g programs for the project in line with the training guidelines.
Develop a framework for technical guidance and backstopping on Oil seed crop management and development in line with project guidelines.


Job specifications
I) A Masters’ Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Sciences, social sciences or other related field.
II) Technical competences in oil seed sector in production processing and marketing
III) Experience of at least five years, of which two are working with the private sector
IV) Have general knowledge of project planning, implementation and management, within by lateral or multi-lateral or international NGO.
V) Have general knowledge of project and business management with emphasis on work planning, budgeting and reporting;
VI) Be computer literate and well versed in the use of Word, Excel and internet;
VII) Fluent English - written and oral and demonstrate excellent report writing skills;
VIII) Advanced advocacy, communication and negotiation skills and ability to work as a team member;
IX) Be conversant with rural poverty reduction strategies and gender equity;
X) A working knowledge of GOU policies, operations and reforms;
XI) Knowledge and experience working with the private sector;
XII) Excellent skills in working with groups to build consensus and resolving conflict.
XIII) Excellent organization skills with the ability for multi- tasking;
XIV) Excellent presentation skills; oral and written with attention to detail
