The Nile Breweries Limited is a leading beverage company in Uganda, also recognized as the best employer in Uganda in 2004, 2005 and 2009 and is a subsidiary of SABMiller - one of the largest brewing groups in the world The company seeks to recruit two qualified individuals as Accountant Trainees with the Finance team.

Position: Accountant Trainees

Role: To provide support to NBL management by supplying appropriate financial informa¬tion and provide administrative support to the Finance Manager in line with NBL policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
• Generate monthly, quarterly and .annual account¬ing reports and statements for financial manage¬ment, and submit them to the Finance Manager
• Prepare variance reports and expenditure analysis for the departments and seek clarification from the budget holder in line with Finance guidelines.
• Support budget development for the department in line with NBL polices and procedures and budget guidelines
• Assist the Finance unit in the preparation and filing of financial transaction records
• Reconciliation of the organization's books of ac¬counts and other financial records of the organiza¬tion
• Preparing schedules of sundry debtors, as well as creditors, and reconciling them with respective control accounts.
• Monitoring staff loans and advances, ensuring pe¬riodic recoveries, and reconciling with respective control accounts.
• Administer and ascertain correctness of the organization's payroll in accordance with the policy and procedures, and make remittances to the Statutory bodies and payments
• Taking custody of petty cash, raising petty cash vouchers, making petty cash payments, and making entries into, and balancing the petty cashbook.

Requirements
• A Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance and Business administration or a relevant field.
• At least two years working experience in a large reputable organization
• Work experience in an FMCG industry will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of accounting packages and compu¬terized business systems
• Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
• Must be willing to work in various places across the country
• Team player and with high level of integrity
