Job Title: Program Officers
Duty Station: West Nile, Eastern or Central regions of Uganda
Reports to: Program Manager
Job Summary:
To provide technical support and guidance to the PMTCT implementing sites and partners where PREFA is working, including health facilities and communities
Key Result Areas
1. Support districts to ensure that health facilities are equipped to provide quality, comprehensive and effective PMTCT services
2. Ensure increased access to quality PMTCT, ART, RH, and nutrition services at PMTCT sites in PREFA supported districts
3. Increased demand for high quality, comprehensive PMTCT services
4. Increased proportion of HIV infected pregnant women and their babies who receive comprehensive PMTCT services
5. Ensure that more HIV exposed babies receive appropriate care and treatment
6. Ensure that districts develop and implement cost-effective work-plans and budgets in line with Ministry of Health-PMTCT priorities, and in agreement with PREFA and donor funding requirements
Qualifications:
The suitable candidate must have a first degree in health sciences (medicine, public health or nursing] or a degree in development studies or social sciences. Masters in Public Health is an added advantage.
Additional Qualifications and desired skills:
• At least 3 years of professional experience working in HIV/ AIDS prevention and care settings
• Experience working with partners at district and community level in HIV/AIDS work
• Good understanding of current issues and developments in the field of HIV/AIDS and especially PMTCT, VCT and ART
• Networking, excellent verbal communication and writing Skill:
• 30-40 years of age
