Community Liaison Officer Job Vacancy- Protecting Families against HIV/AIDS (PREFA)

Job Title: Community Liaison Officer
Reports to: Program Manager
Duty station: Head Office but up to 50% time in the field
Key Result Areas
1 Work with relevant district personnel to ensure provision of an integrated information package for improving delivery of PMTCT services
2 In collaboration with MOH and other partners, appropriate EC materials for creating community awareness designed and effectively utilized
3 Performance standards for Community Education and Mobilization Assistants developed and documented
4 Regular summary reports on community support activities prepared and submitted for inclusion in PREFA's reports
5 Continually update performance indicators for monitoring community education and mobilization activities
6 In collaboration with the PREFA M and E department, design instruments for evaluation of community education and mobilization activities, and assess the effectiveness of the intervention provided
7 Provide support supervision to personnel engaged in community education and mobilization activities

Qualification:
• First degree in Development Studies or Education or SWASA or Social Sciences

Additional qualifications and desired skills:
• Working experience in the management of HIV/AIDS care at community level, preferably in an NGO
• Good community mobilization skills
• Knowledge of designing IEC instruments and implementing community mobilization interventions
• Good understanding of current issues and developments in the field of HIV/AIDS, especially PMTCT, VCT and ART,
• Skills in computer application including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel and internet,
• Interpersonal, Mentoring and Report writing skills;
• Willingness to work and travel in rural settings in Uganda
• 30-45 years of age
