Brief Description



Organize, structure and resource line maintenance and line support groups to ensure safe and on time operation of Kenya airways and third party schedules whilst complying with KCAA requirements

Detailed Description



* ensure technical safe and on time operations of kq flights at line maintenance while maintaining kq quality standards
* ensure that the applied resources comply with the regulatory requirements to maintain high safety / airworthiness standards
* ensure effective systems and controls to minimize aircraft systems and cabin deferred defects levels to 1.5 per aircraft
* implement systems for fault reporting, troubleshooting and defect rectification
* upholding departmental goals
* develop and implement systems and procedures that will enhance industrial safety environment
* plan and control the section budget for cost efficient operations
* develop staff under his/her control as well as state of the art facilities and equipment
* develop and implement improved system for fault reporting, troubleshooting and defect rectifications
* ensure ground time for maintenance and troubleshooting and control handling of scheduled maintenance is well utilized
* maintain on time performance of 98% i.e. 2 delays per 24 hours
* maintain high level standards of in-house keeping
* implement WCO
* maintain staff leave to below 10 days carry-over balance


Job Requirements





* engineering university degree and/or diploma in engineering
* dual licence and minimum four (4) approvals on kq fleet
* must have served as duty control engineer/production engineer or station engineer for a minimum of 3 years
* mus have worked in kenya airways engineering section for not less than 10 years
* management skills and experience
* knowledge of KCAA requirements and kenya airways procedures
* minimum aggregate of C+ in mathematics, C+ in english, C+ in physics
