Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist
This position is based in Kampala, Uganda and requires relevant work experience and appropriate educational background, as outlined.
Required Competences:
Monitoring and Evaluation
• Extensive experience in implementing M and E systems (5 years)
• Familiarity with National HIV/AIDS performance indicators Capacity Building Past experience providing technical support to wide range of program implemented (especially civil society organizations) with varied M and E capacities
• Substantial experience in developing and delivering M and E capacity building programs.
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills, ability to lead technical teams, work individually with CSOs needing assistance Professional skills
• A team player who works well under deadlines and pressure
• Ability to work independently under very busy conditions
• Ability to lead and motivate teams of colleagues and consultants
• Excellent analytical and writing skills
• Ability to produce timely well written deliverables
• Strong verbal and presentation skills
• Willingness to travel within Uganda on field work
Required Experience and Academic
Qualifications:
The proposed candidate must have:-
1. Minimum of Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) in statistics, or other relevant discipline such as public health or social sciences
2. Minimum of 5 years work experience implementing monitoring and evaluation systems, with an emphasis on health (HIV/AIDS and OVC)
3. Experience working on large USAID-funded projects preferred
Overall Responsibilities/Duties: The Project Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will be responsible for the management and performance of the Project's M and E system. Will work with project staff to collect and submit the specified data for the Project M and E as detailed in the Performance Monitoring Plan (PMP). She/he will work with the Communications Specialist to develop project reports using the PMP data, assessing project performance in meeting project targets.
